# Encryption Gateways / Object FS

## rclone mount (FUSE)

Mount S3 buckets as a local filesystem. Useful for quick access and simple tooling; prefer native S3 clients for performance‑critical workloads.

- rclone: [Aurora Setup Guide](https://docs.aur.lu/docs/s3/tools/rclone) · [Homepage](https://rclone.org/) · [Docs](https://rclone.org/docs/)
```bash
rclone mount aurora:my-bucket /mnt/aurora   --s3-endpoint https://a-s3.aur.lu   --s3-force-path-style --s3-no-check-bucket   --daemon
```

## goofys / s3fs-fuse

FUSE filesystems that present buckets as POSIX mounts. Good for legacy workflows; note differences from real filesystems (eventual consistency, semantics).

AWS_ACCESS_KEY_ID=<YOUR_ACCESS_KEY> AWS_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY=<YOUR_SECRET_KEY> goofys --endpoint https://a-s3.aur.lu --use-path-request -f my-bucket /mnt/aurora

# s3fs
echo <YOUR_ACCESS_KEY>:<YOUR_SECRET_KEY> > ~/.passwd-s3fs && chmod 600 ~/.passwd-s3fs
s3fs my-bucket /mnt/aurora -o url=https://a-s3.aur.lu -o use_path_request_style
