Limits & Quotas

This page describes default limits for the Aurora S3 Platform. Quotas can be raised by contacting Aurora support.

Object and bucket limits​

  • Bucket name length: 3–63 characters
  • Object key length: up to 1024 bytes
  • Maximum buckets per organization: 100/tenant
  • Maximum objects per bucket: virtually unlimited

Size limits​

  • Single PUT object size (non-multipart): up to 5 GB
  • Multipart upload: up to 5 TB
  • Minimum multipart part size (except last): 5 MB
  • Maximum parts per multipart upload: 10,000

API and performance​

  • Request rate: designed for high concurrency; scale with prefixes for listings
  • List pagination: 1,000 keys per page (typical); use continuation tokens

Versioning and Object Lock​

  • Versions per object: no fixed limit; monitor storage usage
  • Retention maximums: governed by compliance requirements; contact support
